Classic black and white never goes out of style — but this garden wedding at Dunn Gardens proved that a subtle pop of green can elevate the timeless palette into something fresh, modern, and undeniably cool. Simple in concept yet layered in detail, the celebration embraced crisp contrast, lush nature, and refined textures for a look that felt effortlessly elegant from start to finish.
Surrounded by the mature greenery and sculpted landscape of Dunn Gardens, the design allowed the setting to speak first. Soft white fabrics and an airy Tidewater Sailcloth Tent framed the ceremony and reception, letting the garden’s vibrant greens shine without competition. The sailcloth’s natural warmth softened the black-and-white foundation, creating balance between structure and organic beauty.
Clean Contrast, Elevated Details
Under the tent, the aesthetic leaned bold but restrained. Black Chiavari Chairs introduced graphic contrast against the surrounding greenery and crisp white linens. Tables were dressed in White Panama Linens and finished with delicate Hemstitch Pebble Napkins for a subtle layer of texture.
Dining unfolded at elegant King’s Banquet Tables, styled with Urban Slate Flatware for a modern, architectural edge. The combination of matte black accents and soft white textiles created a refined visual rhythm that felt both intentional and relaxed.
A crisp White Dance Floor anchored the celebration space, offering a polished surface for the evening’s festivities. Overhead, Black Café String Lights with Cedar Box added warmth and glow as daylight faded into evening, enhancing the garden’s natural ambiance without overpowering it.

Planned and designed by Clutch Events, with florals by Leah Erickson Floral, the wedding struck a confident balance between minimalism and richness. The greenery remained the star, while the black-and-white palette provided structure and sophistication. Catering by Foodz Catering and desserts from Metropolitan Market + Mainstay Provisions Cookies completed the experience, ensuring every detail was considered.
